Baseball Betting Playoff Game 3: LA Angels @ Boston Red Sox

As the baseball betting postseason continues, the Boston Red Sox will play host to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in a heated baseball betting affair.

Could this be the year that the Halos finally figure out how to eliminate the Red Sox from the playoffs? With just one victory in their next three games, the mission will be accomplished. LHP Scott Kazmir picked up all sorts of playoff experience last year with the Rays, but now he’ll be the man that can move the Angels into the ALCS on Sunday. Kaz made six starts with Anaheim after coming over from Tampa Bay right at the August 31st trade deadline, going 2-2 with a 1.73 ERA. Opposing batters only hit .212 against him, and his WHIP was only 1.05. Considering that Kazmir started the season in awful form with the Rays, the Angels have to be thrilled with their investment.

Manager Terry Francona knows what it’s like to face an 0-2 hole in the ALDS and to come back and win the series. Red Sox nation shouldn’t be pushing the panic button just yet. The lineup is just going to have to get more production for the pitching. C/1B Victor Martinez is the only man to have driven in a run in this series, and DH David Ortiz and 3B Mike Lowell are still hitless in two games as well. RHP Clay Buchholz will have to keep Boston’s World Series hopes alive with a strong outing on Sunday afternoon. He has had back-to-back miserable starts, which makes it a bit of surprise that Francona is going to give him the baseball. Buchholz has allowed 13 earned runs in his L/8 innings. However, he had led Red Sox betting fans to eight straight victories before those two bumps in the road. He is just 1-2 with a 6.35 ERA in three career starts against the Halos.

Surprisingly, the Angels have fared pretty well at Fenway Park of late, going 7-3 in their L/10 clashes there. The Red Sox are now just 2-6 in their L/8 playoff games overall, including three straight defeats. After Games 1 and 2 stayed ‘under’ the ‘total’, the Angels have played 25 of their L/33 games without reaching the number.
