College Hoops: No. 7 West Virginia visits UConn

The No. 7 West Virginia Mountaineers and the unranked Connecticut Huskies, both riding modest win streaks, clash on Monday at Gampel Pavilion (7 pm ET, ESPN).

West Virginia is a 2.5-point favorite and the over/under total is 136 in College Basketball Odds at JustBet.

UConn has had the upper hand over the past eight meetings, going 6-2 outright and against the point spread. Connecticut has been particularly solid at home, going 7-1 SU in its last eight home dates with West Virginia.
The total has gone over in four of the past five meetings.

This is the first meeting of the season. The Huskies won 61-55 on Jan. 6, 2010, upsetting the Mountaineers as 3.5-point road dogs. The score went under the total of 138.

In its last game Saturday, West Virginia beat the Seton Hall Pirates 75-63 at WVU Coliseum. WVU just barely managed to cover as an 11.5-point home favorite while the final score went under the 147-point total.

Connecticut beat Rutgers 76-58 at Louis Brown Athletic Center Saturday, covering the spread as a 6-point road underdog. The score went under the 140-point total.

Current streak:
West Virginia is 21-5 straight up and 11-14 against the point spread, and has won two straight games. Connecticut is 16-11 SU and 11-14 ATS, and also has won two straight.

West Virginia is 4-1 SU in its last five games on the road, and is 8-2 SU in its last 10 games overall.
The total has gone under in six of Connecticut’s last seven games at home.
