Seminoles, Tar Heels clash in key ACC battle

Florida State is a 2.5-point favorite and the over/under total is 140 in NCAA Basketball Odds at JustBet.
UNC owns a commanding 40-9 series lead over FSU, but the Seminoles had the last laugh when the teams last clashed on March 14 last season, upsetting the Tar Heels 73-70 as a 9.5-point underdog in the ACC Tournament last season.
North Carolina went on to win the national title, but has struggled mightily this season, dropping six of their past seven in ACC play.
Over the past 10 meetings, North Carolina is 9-1 SU and each team has covered the point spread five times.
In its last game, Florida State beat the Virginia Cavaliers 69-50 as a pick’em on Wednesday. The score fell under the over/under total of 126.
Chris Singleton scored 12 points for Florida State and Luke Loucks added 11, while Ryan Reid and Xavier Gibson each had 10 points apiece. The Seminoles hit 50 percent of their field goal attempts, including a 7-of-14 effort from three-point range.
North Carolina dropped a 71-67 decision against the Boston College Eagles at the Silvio O. Conte Forum Saturday. Boston College covered as a 3-point home favorite while the score went under the 143.5-point total.
Florida State (19-7 SU, 7-14 ATS) has won two straight games. North Carolina (14-13 SU, 7-17 ATS) has lost two straight games.
With forward Ed Davis out of the lineup with a wrist injury, North Carolina’s Deon Thompson is the team’s leading scorer. Thompson scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds against Boston College, while John Henson posted 11 points.
