Georgetown Hoyas in familiar territory
By Hank Harris • Mar 16th, 2010 • Category: NCAABThe Georgetown Hoyas are a traditional power in NCAA College Basketball – and they’re sure looking like one right now, at the right time.
Georgetown (23-10 SU, 17-12 ATS) is the No. 3 team in the Midwest region, a seeding which was aided by the team’s performance in the last weekend’s Big East championship game. The Hoyas came within seconds of beating the West Virginia Mountaineers, losing by two points.
Georgetown will be aiming for its second Final Four appearance in four years, after making it to the 2007 four-team finale.
Georgetown faces the 14th-seeded Ohio Bobcats (21-14 SU, 18-12 ATS), which won the MAC Tournament title, on Thursday (7:25 pm ET, CBS).
The Bobcats dumped top-seeded Kent State, fourth-seeded Miami-Ohio and third-seeded Akron to earn their first NCAA tourney berth since 2005. The Bobcats have not won a game in the NCAA Tournament since 1983.
NCAA Tournament Betting Odds at JustBet have the Hoyas listed as a 13.5-point favorite.
