March Madness: Wake Forest looks to upset No. 1 Kentucky

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons will try to take down the mighty No. 1-seeded Kentucky Wildcats in a second-round East region tilt on Saturday night at the New Orleans Arena (8:15 pm ET, CBS).

Kentucky is a 9-point favorite and the over/under total is 142.5 in NCAA Tournament Betting at JustBet.

No. 9 seed Wake Forest got into a track meet with the No. 8 seed Texas Longhorns on Thursday in the first round, eventually pulling it off with a basket in the dying seconds to secure a 81-80 win.

Wake Forest won the game as a 5.5-point underdog, while the teams played OVER the posted total of 148.5.

Ishmael Smith shot 8-for-20 from the field with 19 points, and Al-Farouq Aminu had 20 in the win.

Kentucky had a polar-opposite game against the East Tennessee State Buccaneers in their opener Thursday, jumping out to a 23 point lead en route to a 100-71 blow out victory.

Kentucky covered the 18.,5-point spread, and the combined score made it OVER the posted total of 134.5.

Freshman guard Eric Bledsoe led the Wildcats with a career-high 29 points. Bledsoe was outstanding from the floor, going 9 for 11 field goals. He had a whopping eight three-pointers, which set a Kentucky record in NCAA Tournament play.

Kentucky had a superb defensive effort, allowing the Buccaneers to shoot just .359 from the field and .235 from behind the three-point line.

Wake Forest is 20-10 straight up and 16-11 against the point spread. Kentucky is 33-2 SU and 18-15 ATS.
