NFL Draft: 1st Round Review
By Rob Gerein • Apr 23rd, 2010 • Category: NFLThe first round of the 2010 NFL Draft proved to be a hectic day, with three teams making trades to move up and the St. Louis Rams drafting a top quarterback prospect with the No. 1 overall pick.
The San Francisco 49ers, San Diego Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles all made deals to move up in the first round, and the Rams selected Sam Bradford from the Oklahoma Sooners.
The 49ers dealt their 13th pick and a fourth-round selection (113th overall) to the Denver Broncos in exchange for the 11th pick to select offensive tackle Anthony Davis from Rutgers.
The Chargers sent a package – their 28th overall selection, a second-round pick (40th overall), a fourth-round pick (110th overall), and linebacker Tim Dobbins – to the Miami Dolphins for the 12th pick and took running back Ryan Mathews from Fresno State.
And the Eagles gave the Broncos the 24th overall selection and two third-round picks (70th and 87th overall) in exchange for Denver’s 13th pick, then selected defensive end Brandon Graham from the Michigan Wolverines.
