Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs

By Jack Williams • Jan 8th, 2011 • Category: NFL

The Baltimore Ravens will take on the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend. The Ravens did finish the season with a superior record, but they will be on the road against the Chiefs. The Chiefs gained their home field advantage by winning their division. They finished with a record of 10-6 on the season, while the Ravens finished with a 12-4 record.

The Ravens will be the 3 point favorites in NFL Betting Odds. The total for the game is set at 41.

The Chiefs are winners of their division, but they have certainly showed signs of weakness. They have allowed just 110 yards per game on the ground, but there have been a couple of games against the Raiders this season(including the last game of the season) in which the Chiefs looked like they had holes in their running defense. The Ravens will need to test those holes in the defense with Ray Rice. If the Ravens can get Ray Rice going in this game they will have a great chance at walking away with a victory.

The Chiefs need to establish a running game in this one. The Ravens have a great run defense, but the Chiefs may have the best tandem of running backs in the NFL. This may be the aspect of the game that everything comes down to. If the Chiefs are able to run the ball well they will have the advantage. If the Ravens shut down the run the game will likely go to Baltimore.

This should be a great matchup between two of the league’s best teams.
