Green Bay Packers at Atlanta Falcons
By Jack Williams • Jan 15th, 2011 • Category: NFLThe Green Bay Packers will square off against the Atlanta Falcons on Saturday. The Packers are coming off of a big victory over the Philadelphia Eagles and should have a lot of momentum coming into this game. The Falcons earned a first round bye and home field advantage through the playoffs after winning more games than any team in the NFC in the regular season.
The Falcons will be the 2.5 point favorites in NFL Odds. The total for the game is set at 43.5.
The Packers need Aaron Rodgers to be a top level quarterback if they want to win this game. Rodgers has had times this season where he looked as good as just about anyone in the NFL. At other times he has been somewhat mediocre and they team has struggled. The Packers don’t have a running game that can carry the team and if Rodgers does not step up the team will be in trouble.
The Falcons have a very balanced offense that will be tested against the Packers. The Packers allowed just 15 points per game this season and they came up with big plays on defense at the right times throughout the season. The Packers have a “bend but don’t break” defense and they really tighten up on their end of the field. The Falcons will need Michael Turner to have a big game in the red zone if they hope to put the ball in the end zone.
This game may be the best matchup of any of the games in the playoffs this weekend and should provide a good show.
