New Orleans Saints at Seattle Seahawks

By Hank Harris • Jan 7th, 2011 • Category: NFL

The New Orleans Saints will head to Seattle to take on the Seahawks this weekend. The Seahawks finished this season with a record that was much worse than that of the Saints, but they will still host the game because they were the winners of their division. The Saints finished the season with 11 wins while the Seahawks finished with 7 wins.

The Saints will be the 11 point favorites in NFL Odds. The total for the game is sitting at 44.5.

The Saints have the statistical advantage in almost every category between these two teams. The Seahawks only managed to make the playoffs because of their poor division and they will have a very hard time dealing with a tough team like the Saints.

One big weakness in the defense of the Seahawks is their secondary. They have allowed 250 yards per game through the air this season. This does not look good for the Seahawks as the Saints are a “pass first” team. They have averaged nearly 280 yards per game through the air this season. The Saints will be looking to stretch the Seattle defense early and often.

The key for the Seahawks will be winning the turnover battle. If they can force a few turnovers in this game they will have an outside chance at sneaking away from this game with a victory over the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints. If they do not win the turnover battle they will be in for a long game.
