New York Jets battle Pittsburgh Steelers in AFC Championship Game
By Jack Williams • Jan 23rd, 2011 • Category: NFLThe New York Jets will head to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in the AFC Championship Game Sunday. These two teams are playing for an opportunity to go to the Super Bowl. With the stakes so high you can expect both teams to come ready to play.
The Steelers will be the 3.5 point favorites in NFL Odds at JustBet and the total for the game is set at 39.
This game will be all about the run offense of the Jets and the rushing defense of the Steelers. The Steelers allow just 63 yards per game on the ground. Meanwhile, the Jets average 148 rushing yards per game on offense. If the Jets are able to find a way to run against this defense they will have a great shot at taking this game.
If the Jets are unable to run the ball they may be in trouble. The Jets rely on the running game to open up their passing game. Mark Sanchez is still developing as a quarterback and is probably not ready to take the game on his shoulders against a team like the Steelers.
The Steelers will also have a hard time running in this game. The Jets allow just 90 yards per game on the ground and have a solid pass defense to compliment their running defense. This game will be a very physical game between two great defensive teams. The last matchup went to the Jets with a 22-17 victory. However, things change in the playoffs and these teams will both bring everything to the table.?
