NHL Playoffs: Canadiens host Penguins
By Hank Harris • May 4th, 2010 • Category: NHLThe Pittsburgh Penguins and the Montreal Canadiens clash Tuesday in Game 3 of their NHL Eastern Conference semifinal series at the Bell Centre (7:05 pm ET, Versus).
Pittsburgh is a -165 moneyline favorite and the over/under total is 5.5 in NHL Odds at JustBet.
The Penguins have had the upper hand in the past 10, going 6-4, but it appears the defending Stanley Cup champions have their hands full with the upstart Canadiens, who upset the East No. 1 seed Washington Capitals in the first round.
After dropping the opener of the East semifinal against the Penguins on Friday, the Canadiens defeated Pittsburgh 3-1 as a +245 underdog in Game 2 on Sunday. The four goals scored fell under the over/under total of 5.5.
Michael Cammalleri scored a pair of goals for Montreal and Jaroslav Halak made 38 saves in the win. Matt Cooke netted Pittsburgh’s lone goal and Marc-Andre Fleury made 18 saves.
Pittsburgh was 47-28-7 this season while Montreal was 39-33-10.
Over/under betting fans should note that the total has gone over in five of Pittsburgh’s last six games overall, and in five of Pittsburgh’s last six on the road.
Pittsburgh is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games on the road, 4-2 in its last six in Montreal, and 6-2 SU in its last eight games overall against Montreal.
